Grow Missouri Hemp’s mission is to “Grow Your own Home”. With the recent legalization of the industrial hemp plant, the team at Grow Missouri Hemp have been on the ground floor of learning and educating others on how to build sustainable homes using the inner core of the hemp plant, the Hurd. This product is called Hempcrete or Hemplime. By mixing the hemp hurd with water and lime, we can get a home that has many more benefits than a conventional home as well as eventually cost less. The number one benefit is temperature and humidity regulation. Hempcrete is the future of building sustainable homes.
We also have a mission of initiating existing farmers to use industrial hemp as a rotation crop or a soil remediation crop here in Missouri. It has been 80 years since Missourians grew hemp as a crop, and it’s time we grew it again. Many other states are way ahead of Missouri and we need to catch up in order to compete on a national scale in the hemp farming business.
Hempcrete or hemplime is biocomposite material, a mixture of hemp hurds and lime, sand, or pozzolans, which is used as a material for construction and insulation.
